Naturally sweet wine

tba2003-150

Selected berries (Beerenauslese - in French called 'vendange tardive') and Trockenbeerenauslesen (TBA) (in French called 'selection de grains nobles') - both a kind of dessert wine, arise only very seldom in especially adequate and excellent vintages. When the nature already during the harvest period produce perfect grapes, we then use this grace of nature and manually select these grapes to produce this naturally sweet wine speciality.
The latest Riesling TBA we produced was probably the best TBA in the history of our wine estate and won the World Wine Award of the English Winemagazine DECANTER as the world's best naturally sweet wine..

Gelber Orleans

gelberorleans2004-200

Gelber Orleans is a historic grape, which is re-cultivated in a small pilot vineyard location.
This grape is supposedly dates back to Charlemagne (Charles the Great) and could, in earler days, be found in the best vineyard locations in Rheingau, Rheenhessen and the Pfalz. In the 19th century ist was almost totally ousted by the Riesling.
The wine is mostly neutral or with a touch of acid.
