THE ORIGINS
The origins of the Knipser family are in South Tyrol (Italy) where the Merano townsmen were first mentioned in historic records in the 16th century. In 1573 Gaudenz Knipser had been a builder and councillor. In 1582 the Archbishop of Innsbruck awarded the family the coat of arms that is still used to the present day.
